The conical base, crafted from individually laminated blocks of maple wood, is hand-charred, deeply brushed, and finished with a refined charcoal-rubbing technique. This artisanal process enhances the surface with a velvety matte texture, revealing natural depth, subtle tonal transitions, and an organic tactile presence.
During the charring process, the wood naturally responds to fire — forming fine cracks, soft recesses, and tonal irregularities. These variations are not flaws but a celebrated feature of the piece: an authentic reflection of the material’s transformation and a direct expression of the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, where beauty lies in imperfection, change, and the passage of time.

For large or delicate items such as floor lamps, the base and lampshade may be shipped in separate boxes to ensure safe delivery.
In these cases, you will receive two tracking numbers — one for each package.
