Sazha Black
Sazha Black
Sazha Black is a sculptural floor lamp that unites natural materials with Japanese-inspired wood-burning craftsmanship.
The base is assembled from individually joined maple wood blocks and charred using a traditional firing technique.
This process creates a deep, expressive black surface with natural texture and tonal variation.
After firing, the wood is finished with finely ground charcoal, hand-rubbed into the surface to intensify the color, enrich the grain, and enhance the tactile qualities of the material.
During the charring process, the wood reacts to heat — therefore subtle organic cracks, small gaps at the joints, or surface fissures may appear.
These characteristics are inherent to this heritage technique and emphasize the authenticity and uniqueness of every piece.
The dark graphite wool lampshade introduces softness and visual balance, creating a refined contrast with the expressive charred base.
Sazha Black functions not only as a lighting piece but as a sculptural design object, adding depth, atmosphere, and contemporary craftsmanship to the interior.
Perfect for minimalist, Japandi, Wabi-sabi, and modern organic spaces.
