The bowl-shaped shade (approx. 30 cm / 11.8”) is handcrafted from biocomposite — an eco-friendly blend of clay, hemp fibers, cellulose, wood shavings, and natural wood glue. Its rim is adorned with charred wooden spheres, adding a dramatic contrast, while black cotton bows inside create a subtle, artistic accent.
The globe-shaped base is crafted from solid maple wood, charred and aged by hand using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, resulting in a rich, tactile surface. Measuring 15 cm (5.9”) in diameter, it provides a sculptural foundation that enhances the lamp’s artistic form.
When lit, the Moon Bowl radiates a soft, moon-like glow, casting poetic shadows reminiscent of the night sky. Perfect for modern interiors, Japandi style, wabi-sabi spaces, minimalist decor, or gallery-inspired homes.
